About this product
The CN16 distintivo (the official classification plaque) identifies hoteles urbanos (urban hotels) classified in the highest category, 5-star gran lujo, in the Canary Islands: hotel establishments on consolidated, non-tourist urban land. It must be displayed outside to prove the hotel’s classification.
Regulations
Decreto 50/2011, of 8 April (BOC No. 81, the Canary Islands official gazette), sets the design of the CN16 plaque and requires it to be fixed to the hotel’s façade, next to the main entrance, visible from the street. The hotel urbano category and its star rating are governed by Decreto 142/2010, of 4 October, the Reglamento de la Actividad Turística de Alojamiento de Canarias (the Canary Islands Tourist Accommodation Activity Regulation).

See the rest of the categories in Canary Islands classification plaques and the guide Canary Islands classification plaque: what it is and who needs it. If the hotel is not on consolidated urban land, the plaque you need is the CN05, hotel 5-star gran lujo; for the 4-star category on urban land there is the CN14.
