About this product
The CN01 distintivo (the official classification plaque) identifies tourist apartments classified in the 3-star category in the Canary Islands. This is an establishment made up of professionally managed accommodation units, and its owner is required to display this plaque to prove the category to guests and to tourism inspectors.
Regulations
The design and use of the CN01 plaque are set out in Decreto 50/2011, of 8 April (BOC No. 81, the Canary Islands official gazette), which regulates the classification plaques of tourism establishments in the Canary Islands. Star-rating for tourist apartments, in turn, is set under Decreto 142/2010, of 4 October, which approved the Reglamento de la Actividad Turística de Alojamiento (the Tourist Accommodation Activity Regulation). The plaque must be fixed outside the establishment, next to the main entrance, in a spot visible from the street, reproducing the uniform design in the decree’s schedule.
