About this product
The CN04 distintivo (the official classification plaque) applies to tourist villas in the Canary Islands: establishments made up of one or more accommodation units with private grounds, run as a tourist accommodation activity. The owner must display this plaque on the property to prove its official classification.
Regulations
The design of, and the requirement to display, the CN04 plaque are set out in Decreto 50/2011, of 8 April (BOC No. 81, the Canary Islands official gazette), on classification plaques for tourism establishments in the Canary Islands. The villa category is defined in Decreto 142/2010, of 4 October, the Reglamento de la Actividad Turística de Alojamiento (the Tourist Accommodation Activity Regulation), within the extra-hotel group alongside the apartment and the casa rural or casa emblemática. The plaque must be fixed outside, next to the main entrance, in a spot visible from the property’s access.

If your property is run as a private Vivienda Vacacional (VV — registered holiday let) rather than a managed tourist villa, the plaque you need is the CN27; also see our guide to the Vivienda Vacacional (VV) to check which one applies to you.
