About this product
The CN27 distintivo (the official classification plaque) identifies a Vivienda Vacacional (VV — registered holiday let) in the Canary Islands: a furnished, fully equipped home let to third parties on a regular basis for tourism purposes in exchange for payment. It must be displayed outside, next to the main entrance, where it is visible from the street.
Regulations
The CN27 model is set out in Decreto 50/2011, of 8 April (BOC No. 81, the Canary Islands official gazette), which regulates the classification plaques of tourism establishments in the Canary Islands. The holiday-let activity itself is governed by Decreto 113/2015, of 22 May, which approved the Reglamento de las Viviendas Vacacionales de Canarias (the Canary Islands Holiday Let Regulation) and amended article 5 of Decreto 142/2010 to bring in this category. Before installing the plaque, you should have filed the declaración responsable (the formal start-of-activity declaration) with the relevant cabildo insular (island council) and be listed on the Registro General Turístico de Canarias (the Canary Islands General Tourism Register), since the plaque evidences an activity that is already registered — it does not replace that registration.
