New Business Image Checklist for Gran Canaria

13 August 2026 •

You’re about to open a business in Gran Canaria: premises chosen, licences under way, the refit half-finished. In the middle of all that, image usually gets left until last, and it shows. Here’s the image and print checklist worth having sorted by the day you open the shutters, in order of priority.

1. Signage for the premises

The sign and the shopfront are your first advert. Outdoor signage, vinyl with opening hours and services, and, if your window allows it, an opening campaign (“Coming soon” / “Grand opening”) that works while you finish the refit.

2. What the customer holds in their hands

Business cards, a menu or list of services, opening flyers with a launch offer, and basic self-employed stationery (invoices, stamp). Short runs: you’ll reprint once the business is up and running.

3. Your team, identified

Even if there are only two of you, T-shirts with your logo turn “a new shop” into “a brand”. You design them online in 3D, with exact sizes and the first logo included in the price.

4. Announce the opening in style

A large-format banner on the front of the building or a nearby fence is the cheapest format per impression for letting the neighbourhood know you exist. Add QR-code stickers to every bag or order in the first few weeks.

5. Tourist business? The official plaque

Restaurants, bars, accommodation and agencies in the Canary Islands must display their official distintivo plaque. Sort it before you open and take one inspection worry off your mind.
